dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you for taking the time to view our profile. We are so grateful you’ve decided to read up on us out of the many families looking to adopt. We could not be more excited to move forward if you decide to allow us the honor of raising your baby.

Our decision to adopt was a difficult one. We chose adoption to prevent any further pregnancy complications similar to what we had with our first baby. We spent months processing our grief with not having another child and came to the conclusion that adoption may be right for us. After learning more about adoption, we became more passionate about this option. Raising our toddler has brought us closer together, and although she’s loud and a little wild, our daughter will be the best big sister to your baby.

As difficult as this process has been for us, we know wholeheartedly it must be ten times harder for you. While this profile is just a snapshot into our lives, we hope it sends the message that your baby will be safe and loved and will grow up in a household with lots of hugs and laughs. We know considering the decision of adoption is very difficult, and the fact you are taking such care to find the perfect adoptive family speaks to the love you have for your baby and the trust you have that that family exists.

With love,
Rhyann and Jacob

About Us

We are Rhyann and Jacob! We have been together since high school, where we met playing saxophone and bonded over both being diabetic. For five of our ten years together, we lived eight hours away and made it work with Skype calls and frequent visits. We are light-hearted and easy-going and have the gift of finding humor in just about anything. We enjoy watching Whose Line Is It Anyway with popcorn together before bed, finding new restaurants to try, and walking to our neighborhood grocery store to get ingredients for new recipes. On weekends, we enjoy sipping coffee in the morning and taking walks with our one-year-old daughter and two dogs while we brainstorm more house projects to start (but not finish). Jacob enjoys shredding on guitar, and Rhyann loves getting obsessed with a good fantasy book. Jacob has been a plumber for eight years, and Rhyann works as a therapist in a mental health center.

Our Home & Pets

We own a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home in a big city that feels like a small town in Illinois. Rhyann’s favorite room is her library, and Jacob’s is the music space or garage. We live three blocks from the primary school our daughter will attend, two minutes from her future high school, and right down the street from a family-owned grocery store. We are surrounded by lovely neighbors we consider our supports and a neighborhood with little traffic and a church across the street. We adopted three of our five pets from a local shelter. We have two dogs (Cici and Theo), two cats (Penny and Pepsi), and a chameleon (Randall). Our animals were our first babies and are spoiled rotten.

Our Extended Family

Jacob is the middle child with an older sister and younger brother. His dad’s side of the family is spread across a few states. We get together throughout the year, with Christmas being the biggest gathering. His mom’s side of the family mostly lives within 45 minutes, including grandma and grandpa (Momo and Papa), Aunt, and highschool age cousin (our daughter’s Auntie). We spend most holidays with the local family, and often have lunch together on Sunday afternoons.

Rhyann has a huge blended family consisting of ten children total. Two of the siblings are biological, four of them are step-brothers, two are step-sisters, and she has one half-brother who just turned six. Rhyann’s parents live about two hours away, and we try to visit them often to get the newest generation of cousins together. A lot of the traditions we have, including going to a pumpkin patch around Halloween, reading The Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve, and having a designated night for pizza and movies, come from Rhyann’s family.

While a lot of our extended family lives far away, we have scheduled video calls with both families weekly and lean on close family for support.

What Led Us To Adoption

We both come from big families, and since we started dating over ten years ago, the thought of adoption has felt right to us. Because we are both diabetic, the risk of passing on the gene is about 75% if we were to have another child. Recently, we have discussed our biological daughter having a sibling and decided against another pregnancy due to previous complications. While adoption was an unexpected decision, our further research into it confirmed we are well equipped to handle any challenges that come and have always been the right type of people for this.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.

Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.

The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.

Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
