dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

While we will never be able to understand what you are feeling at this moment, we recognize and acknowledge the love you have for your child and the strength, courage, and selflessness this decision takes. You, your family, and your history will always be a part of your child’s life if you choose us. We are honored, grateful, and humbled to be considered to join you on this journey. We will work every day to show your baby how truly loved they are by us, our family, and you.

Should you choose us, your baby will be surrounded by love and support. We have always shared our love for children in our careers in early childhood and special education, and we are excited to be able to apply these experiences to our family life. Together, we will support all areas of development through lots of time outside, interacting with a variety of people, and engaging in community activities. By providing a loving home where they feel safe and free to be their authentic self, we will support them in all their ups and downs and give them the tools and support needed to achieve their dreams. Every achievement and milestone reached will be reinforced by the fact that you loved them first.

We want you to know whatever decision you make for your child is the right one. We admire your strength and abundant love for your child as you navigate this emotional journey.

About Us

We are Karen and Paul from Michigan. We are fun-loving and energetic people who love to be outside and spend time with family and friends. We met 12 years ago in college when we were both getting degrees in special education and have been married since July 2016. Karen is a director of a childcare center, and Paul is a therapy technician for kids with autism. We both enjoy playing and watching a lot of different sports. We love watching college football, soccer, and baseball. We also like going for walks, playing card and board games, and exploring different restaurants and coffee shops in nearby cities. We enjoy going to movies and spending time in our backyard doing yard games and having campfires. We also enjoy going to festivals and concerts. Paul enjoys playing softball and video games. Karen enjoys reading, cooking, crocheting, and running.

Our Home

We live in Michigan in a suburb of a large metropolitan city that offers a wide variety of activities. We live in a three-bedroom, two-bathroom ranch house with many families with children living close by. We are within walking distance of parks and local restaurants. There are a variety of activities available locally including movie theaters, golf courses, malls, bowling, and many other fun activities. There is also a state park close by and multiple walking and bike trails.

Our Extended Family

Karen has one older sister. She has a small extended family with one niece, two cousins, three uncles, and four aunts. She has some distant family members who live in Sweden. Karen’s family is very into holidays, especially Christmas. Karen’s family enjoys Swedish traditions during Christmas time including making traditional food and having wooden shoes along with our stockings. Karen’s family also enjoys traveling together and playing family games.

Paul has one older brother and a large extended family. He has one nephew, 15 cousins, six second cousins, six aunts, and five uncles. He also has two living grandmas. Paul has always enjoyed going out to lunches and playing golf with his grandma and has a special relationship with her. He is close to his cousins. There is a running family joke that one of his cousins is like Paul’s clone. Paul’s family always loved going up to the family cottage. They also enjoy taking family vacations to the beach and hiking together.

What Led Us To Adoption

We are unable to have children naturally, but we have always remained open to completing our family through adoption. Our desire to start a family has been something we have talked about for years, but we wanted to first ensure we had built a lifestyle that supports expanding our family. We feel we are now in a very stable place financially, emotionally, and physically. We have friends and family who have adopted and have seen the joy it brings to their lives. We are so excited and honored to start our own adoption journey and share our love with a little one.

Choose a Family for
Your Baby With Confidence

As you browse our list of hopeful adoptive parents, you can feel confident in knowing that all of the adoptive families working with Angel Adoption are prepared to offer your baby a safe, stable, and loving environment along with a wealth of opportunities for a happy and fulfilling life.

Each adoptive parent has been thoroughly evaluated through a home study course conducted by a licensed agency. A completed home study means the family is emotionally, physically, and financially ready to adopt a baby.

The home study process includes assessments of each parent’s character, marital stability, financial situation, lifestyle, and medical history. The agency also runs background checks to verify there is no record of criminal activity or child abuse. In addition, a social worker will inspect the family’s home to ensure it is a safe environment for a child.

Furthermore, Angel Adoption requires each family to be educated on adopting and parenting. After a baby has been placed with the adoptive family, a social worker will continue to monitor and supervise the family. We go to great lengths to make sure all the families you have to choose from are going to be excellent parents for your baby!
